WESTAWAY CROWNED 2026 NATIONAL 944 CHALLENGE CHAMPION IN DRAMATIC FINALE
Jamie Westaway has been crowned the 2026 National 944 Challenge Series Champion following a dramatic championship finale at Phillip Island on Sunday, 4 October.
Westaway delivered when it mattered most, winning the final two races of the season to overturn Adam Brewer’s five-point advantage heading into the decisive weekend.
The result left the two championship rivals tied on points after a fiercely contested season, with the title ultimately decided by the series’ countback system.
With more race victories across the 2026 championship, Westaway was declared the overall series winner, securing the crown in a remarkable finish to the championship campaign.
Brewer’s challenge lasted right to the final race, ensuring the championship remained undecided until the final calculations were made.
For Westaway, the Phillip Island double proved decisive, turning an intense title battle into a memorable championship triumph and providing a fitting conclusion to the 2026 Porsche 944 Challenge season.
The series wil return in 2027 at ‘the home of horsepower’ - Sandown Motor Raceway - on 19th February, 2027
